If you are throwing a family game night or are simple sitting around with a group of friends you don’t need to break out an expensive board game to have a fun time. Instead there are a lot of fun dice games which you can play and have an extremely fun experience.
So, what are some games which you can play with only a few dice?
Zilch
The zilch dice game is my favorite dice game and one of the best games ever created. Everybody rolls 6 dice and recieve points for the patterns that they roll. For example 3 5s or 1 2 3 4 5 6. Depending on the pattern you get a certain amount of points, and if you manage to use all of the dice you will be able to roll all 6 again.
The great thing about this game is that you can be as risky or as cautious as you want. Once you have 300 points you are free to quit and keep your points, or you can keep rolling and attempt to get a much higher score. However if you keep rolling your extra dice and don’t get anything you will lose all of your points for that turn, so be wise about it.
Basically all of the points are added together and the one who has the most at the end wins.
3 or More
This is a simple game you roll 5 dice and attempt to get 3 of a kind or higher. 3 of a kind equals 3 points 4 of a kind equals 6 points and 5 of a kind equals 12 points. If you do not get a 3 of a kind or better then you recieve 0 points for that turn. You can play for x amount of turns and see who has the most points or you can play until someone breaks 30.
High Roller
This game came from the game show high rollers. You write down the numbers 1-9 on a piece of paper and can then cross them off based on the numbers that you have rolled. You can roll 2 dice and then use the numbers to cross off one or more of the numbers on your list. So if you roll a 3 and a 2 you can wither cross out the 3 and the 2 or you can add them together and cross out the 5.
Everything has to be used to cross off something else. You can choose to keep rolling until you cannot use the numbers to mark off anything new. At this point your turn is over and someone else’s turn begins. The person who has the least amount of numbers left after rolling their dice is the winner.
Those are just some of the best dice games whioh you can play, they can all be extremely fun. They are cheap to play, you only need to have dice, and they are very fun. Try them out for yourself and you will see that you don’t need to go buying a big board game to have a great family game night.
